Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society |
Date | 18 May 1894 |
Description | Rix believes that Foster misunderstood his query concerning the Water Report, and clarifies that this is not treated as a paper and so will not be read at a meeting. He wishes to know whether it is to wait for a meeting of the Water Committee, or if it is to go to Council direct to be voted for printing in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Society'.
Rix states that Rev H N Hutchinson has offered for their Soirée three papier maché models of extinct animals, and he asks whether they should accept.
He also asks if the Report of the Antarctic Committee is to come before the next Thursdays Council, as Foster did not mark it for the card. Rix supposes Foster took a copy of the proof to read. He further notes that neither the 'Medals' nor the 'Report of Procedure Committee' were marked, and Rix asks if neither are to be taken; the next Thursday is noted as the last possible Council for the Medals unless it is completely certain that a July Council will be held. |
