Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to the Deputy Master of the Royal Mint, E.C. |
Date | 18 July 1894 |
Description | Foster explains that a medal has recently been founded in honour of Sir George Buchanan, late Medical Officer to the Local Government Board, and the dies have been deposited at the Royal Society, along with money to pay the expenses of the medal. It is to be of gold, and to be awarded every three or five years. He asks, therefore, if they would be willing to take charge of the dies and strike the medal for them every third or fifth anniversary, at the same time as the other medals of which they already have taken charge of for the Society.
Foster thanks them for past favours, and hopes for a favourable response to this request. |
