| Description | A few years ago Clarke carried out the wishes of a Committee of the Royal Society by making borings in the Egyptian delta. Colonel Maitland can recommence operations but requires good boring apparatus. Some time ago the Society mentioned their readiness to pay a sum not exceeding £200 for such apparatus but they are not aware anything has been done by the War Office. The Society desires a series of borings on the east and west line through the middle of the delta, say about Tanlah. The results already obtained are very interesting and it would be sad not to complete the work. |
