DescriptionAt the meeting of Council 30 November, Captain Noble communicated Armstrong's willingness to give half the sum necessary to raise the Scientific Relief Fund to £20,000 provided that the other half, amounting to about £6500, was raised by subscription and on the understanding that when necessary the fund should be used for the remission of fees. On behalf of the President and Council Foster expresses their warmest thanks for this most munificent offer.
