Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Thomas Lauder Brunton |
Date | 21 December 1886 |
Description | Brunton is correct that he had a grant from the Royal Society to purchase a spectroscope but he is wrong in supposing that this was returned to the Society. In 1883 Brunton informed them in answer to a circular, that it was deposited at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Rix supposes it is still there. Rix as Assistant Secretary will lay Brunton's letter before the Officers at the first opportunity. He does not know if they can grant Dr Bousfield to have the instrument transferred to him or whether it will have to wait until the April meeting of the Government Grant Committee. |
