Description | Quotes the regulations for the conduct of the Government Grant Committee and is requested by the President and Council of the Royal Society to inquire if the following instruments purchased by the late Professor [Frederick] Guthrie are at South Kensington: a cone apparatus for heat conductivity in liquids; a lathe to produce true harmonies in waves; rock-salt lens, prism and stands; low resistance reflecting galvanometer, two fittings one ohm; one condenser. If other instruments have simlarlry been deposited with the Department, Foster asks for a list. In case of any apparatus or specimens purchased by means of the Government Grant being handed to the Science and Art Department by grantees, Foster asks for acknowledgement of receipt in every case so that the Secretaries are kept informed. |
