Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Hugh Longbourne Callendar |
Date | 7 March 1887 |
Description | There is no part of the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]' immediately appearing to make it necessary for Callendar's paper to be hurried. As the Society now issues the papers separately as well as in parts, the longer Callendar's paper is in finishing the longer it will be in appearing.
It will probably be three months or thereabout before any part is published and Lord Rayleigh suggests that if Callander wishes the new series of experiments to form part of the same memoir with the old, this might be permitted provided the whole could be completed, put into type and corrected with three months. If this cannot occur the paper should be published without the appendix, which should form a separate communication. |
