TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company
Date27 September 1887
DescriptionMr [William] Ascroft the artist of the Krakatoa plates has been dangerously ill and this has caused the delay of a day or two in submitting the proofs to him. Ascroft has now seen them but is, he is sorry to say, exceedingly disappointed with the result and thinks them altogether most unsatisfactory. Ascroft quite despairs of being able to put down all he has to say by way of instruction in a letter and wonders if the person responsible for the execution might be able to see him in person. Provides Ascroft's address.
