DescriptionThe President and Council of the Royal Society read at their last meeting a letter from Professor [Charles Smart] Roy concerning his recent investigations in Madrid into cholera. Roy spoke in highest terms of the great assistance rendered in consequence of the Spanish Minister's letter and instructions and especially mentioned the great help of Doctor Benavides, Dean of the Medical Corporation of the province of Madrid, and Doctor Mendoza, Director of the Hygiene Laboratory of the San Juan Hospital. The President and Council add their thanks to Roy's. Roy's report is not ready for immediate publication but he hopes to shortly make known the results.
