TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
Date10 October 1887
DescriptionRix received a letter from Captain [William de Wiveleslie] Abney in answer to his letter concerning his paper on the 1883 eclipse. Abney has done nothing yet towards amending the paper but hopes to do so in the course of a fortnight. Abney enquired what is being done about the illustrations which are two drawings by Mr Wesley framed and glazed which stand on the mantleshelf in the Officer's room. The last similar drawing of the coronoa was engraved on copper and Rix supposes these will be treated in the same way. Rix sees no reason why they cannot go on with the illustrations if it is certain Abney's paper will be put into proper form for publication and accepted.
