TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt]
Date21 October 1887
DescriptionRix notes the next Council is Thursday 27th October. Two Committees were held yesterday; the Dawson letter Committee and the House & Soirée Committee. Rix encloses a copy of the Dawson letter considered [not attached] the latter Committee met principally to make arrangements for the Anniversary Dinner. They sent to Serling[?] a proof of the Government Grant applications but were obliged to go to press without Rayleigh's comments. This was no great matter as Rayleigh has seen the original documents. Rix sends herewith enclosed a paper supplementary to Mr Wamer's application [not attached]. It has come in since the applications were printed. By the same post Rix sends the first proof of Ramsay & Young's paper for the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', which has been waiting for some time.
