DescriptionIn reply to Woods' letter of 21 October [1887] and that of Mr C Ray Woods of 27 July, the matter has been mentioned to the Council of the Royal Society. At the last meeting £150 was voted to Dr [David] Gill from the Donation Fund to assist him in defraying expenses incurred in his researches on stellar photography. The Society is unable to interfere in any arrangements that may have been made between Dr Gill and Mr C Ray Woods.
