TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir John Williamson Dawson
Date1 November 1887
DescriptionDawson's letter to the President of the Royal Society dated 9 June [1887] was laid before the Council on the meeting of 7 July, an immediate decision postponed, and considered again at the first meeting after the recess on 27 October. The President and Council have decided that with regard to the existing condition of the question as to Scientific Federation, and the various contingencies that may arise during the next few years, they do not see their way to summoning such a conference as that which Dawson recommends.
