TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the President, Paisley Philosophical Institution, 3 County Place, Paisley
Date22 March 1895
DescriptionIn answer to the President's letter of yesterday's date addressed to Lord Kelvin [William Thomson], Dr John Murray is mistaken in supposing that the Society has odd copies of the 'Challenger' Report. The 'Report' is a Government publication and the Society never possessed more than the single set presented by Government. The President's letter will be laid before the next meeting of the Challenger Committee but it would not be in their power to do anything beyond that which appears to have already been done; namely to forward the application to Her Majesty's Treasury.
