TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date9 October 1894
DescriptionRix finds it was Sir John Lawes not Sir John Evans that Mr Warington applied for leave to use the 12 unpublished determinations of nitrates to compete the diagrams for his Oxford lectures and that Sir John Lawes promised to bring Warington's request before the Rothamsted Committee at their next meeting. Rix wonders if Evans thinks that leave might be given to Warington in anticipation of a favourable answer by the Committee.

Warington's further request that Lawes should receive permanent power to grant small requests of this kind might wait for the Committee itself to decide in December.

The Goldsmith's Institute Rambing Club of New Cross have asked permission to see the Society's rooms on Saturday afternoon on 27th October. Asks if it would be proper to grant their request.
