DescriptionStrutt has the pleasure of informing Dewar that the President [Lord Kelvin, William Thomson] and Council of the Royal Society have awarded Dewar the Rumford Medal for his researches on the properties of matter at extremely low temperatures. It is hoped that Dewar may be able to attend the Anniversary Meeting of the Society, 30 November, to receive the medal in person.
