TitleCopy letter from A H White, to Dr Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date6 September 1894
DescriptionRegarding Gadow's paper, White encloses Collings' estimate which is approximately £15. Collings' son was here this morning and pointed out some of the difficulties as there is some very fine detail on some of the figures that are to be reduced. Altogether this does not appear to be so cheap or simple a job as was expected. Rix is sending the original drawings at the same time as this, in order that if need be, Rix may inspect them and confer with the author. White does not think there is any doubt upon the question Collings raises as to the disposition of the figures. White understands the author to intend the figures to be grouped in convenient sized blocks to be distributed through the text, as cuts in fact.

Discusses the cost of figures for [Harry Govier] Seeley's paper and encloses a letter from the author to Collings on this subject which White asks to be returned.

Also encloses Collings' estimate for the figures for Lister's paper, two woodcuts and one zinc at £6.10.
