Date18 December 1893
DescriptionRix has spoken to the Treasurer [John Evans] regarding back volumes of the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' and he says he cannot settle definitely until he has consulted the Council but meanwhile he wishes to know if the Messrs would be inclined to purchase volumes between 1800 and 1873 at one-quarter the published price, or the same in sheets at ten percent less. Annotated in Rix's hand with another letter to Messrs Dulau dated 10th January 1895 that Rix has received no reply to his communication but the Treasurer [John Evans] would be glad of his answer by Thursday as he will be able then to consult his colleagues on the question.
