TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Newport Langley, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date11 January 1895
DescriptionWith respect to the Society's circular letter and Langley's reply of 9th January, Langley had two grants; one from the Government Grant in 1881 and one from the Donation Fund in 1882.

The first was for £30 to investigate the changes which take place in the gland cells of the liver and kidney during secretion. The Society never had any report from Langley, probably because Langley assumed that when his results were published, they would be recognised as results obtained by means of his grant. For official reasons however it is necessary for the Society to have some statement from Langley that such and such published papers contain the results obtained by means of the grant in question.
