TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans, Treasurer, Royal Society
Date19 January 1895
DescriptionDulau asks whether Evans would be willing for him to advertise an unbroken set of 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' from 1820, at a reduced price, apart from those which he is breaking up for sale as separate memoirs. Dulau says the outside market price for a set of whole volumes is about one third the published price. Rix thinks it a very good idea to work off some of their old stock in this way, and if the Society were to allow Dulau the same terms as the Society is allowing for separate papers, Rix dares say Dulau would be content, or the Society might allow him 25% and 10% off the selling price, which would be fairer.
