TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date23 January 1895
DescriptionThe Standard's Department accept 1 February at 11am for the visit of the President and Council. Asks if any notice summons ought to go out to the members of Council.

Understands about MacCallum and will put the matter in train. At London University they made objections to the Society having experiments or a lantern or anything but diagrams. With a little pressure Rix supposes the matter might be overcome but as he has already written, the Treasurer [John Evans] is strongly of the opinion that the Jermyn Theatre will be better.

Dr Murrary visited yesterday. The Treasurer says Foster must have a wind-up Challenger Committee soon.
