TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Henry James Chaney, Board of Trade, Standard's Department
Date29 January 1895
DescriptionRix has just heard from Dr Michael Foster that the Society's late Fellow, Professor [Arthur] Cayley is to be buried at Cambridge on Friday morning and it will be necessary for the President [Lord Kelvin, William Thomson] and other representatives of the Society to attend. Foster wishes Rix to say that the official visit of Council to the Standards Department will not be able to take place on that day. Rix much regrets the circumstances, especially if it puts Chaney to any inconvenience. The Secretaries will no doubt communicate further with Chaney as to fixing some other date for the visit.
