TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Savill & Son, Surveyors, 39 New Broad Street, E.C.
Date27 September 1894
DescriptionOn 24th February the Messrs sent the Society for inspection a collection of letters from John Flamsteed to Richard Towneley, found among some papers belonging to one of the Messrs clients. For these the Society offered £5. They Society heard nothing more from the Messrs until 4 April 1892 when then Messrs said their client was abroad but upon his return they would recommend him to present the letters to the Royal Society. Since then the Society has heard nothing about the matter. Wonders if he should assume that the collection of letters is to remain in the Society's possession.
