TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Andrew Ainslie Common, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date18 March 1895
DescriptionCommon's note to Lord Kelvin [William Thomson] applying for a further grant to Mrs West is to hand. Rix presumes this comes from Common as President of the Royal Astronomical Society in which case it is not necessary for it to be handed to Lord Kelvin. The President of the RAS has the power to send applications direct to the Scientific Relief Committee for consideration but the application should be made on the enclosed form [not attached]. As soon as this form is received back Rix will summon the Committee.
