| Description | In reply to Pearson's of the 5th, the Society always prefers that the figures should go in the text if possible as it is so much better for the reader. The re-making of the pages will not cost anything considerable. So little is saved by setting quarto in slip that the Society always set it straight into pages. The re-making will be a good deal less expensive than the purchase of plate paper for the whole edition. They will of course consult Pearson's wishes but if he has no strong views they are very decidedly in favour of putting the cuts into the text. |
