TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Sir Francis Mowatt
Date9 July 1895
DescriptionRix has written officially to ask that Columbia College be withdrawn from the presentation list of 'Challenger' reports. If Mowatt wishes them to submit another name, he will consult the Committee but he is sure that the presentation of a second copy to the Zoological Society will be approved generally. The President and Council did not like to definitely recommend this step in view of the previous refusal, but Rix's letter shows pretty clear their learning. As a post script Foster notes the £1000 is a gracious boon to the Society [grant from Her Majesty's Treasury].
