| Description | The Society has never seen [Henry Reginald Arnulph] Mallock's paper and do not know the title. They only knew of its existence through seeing the name 'Mallock' pencilled on the Committee Minutes.
A Government Grant Report arrived two days since by Mallock entitled 'Report on Experiments on Fluid Viscocity'. There was no covering letter or other communication showing from whom it came.
Asks to know if this is the paper in question as it appears to be intended for publication. The report contains at the end a note dated 10th July 'At Sir G. G. Stokes' suggestion'. Rix finds the appointed referees were Sir Stokes and Professor [Horace] Lamb. Asks if they are to understand that the paper has already been to Stokes and may now be sent to Lamb. If this is the paper in question Rix asks when it was received and who communicated it. It it not yet registered.
Sends herewith the circulars with reports and some extracts [not attached]. |
