TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Alfred Newton, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date10 April 1895
DescriptionRix has looked into the envelope of Professor [Walter Frank Raphael] Weldon's letter and through the other papers Newton left behind but does not find any blank cheque form.

Mr Chapman has made some search respecting Yarrell but has only found that he was not proposed as a candidate after 1847 and died in 1856. Yarrell has a long obituary in the 'Proceedings of the Linnean Society', 25 May 1857, page xxxiii, but nothing there throws light on Newton's enquiry.
