TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Alexander Blackie William Kennedy, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date12 November 1895
DescriptionIt is difficult to foretell what the Committee who arrange the tables [for the Anniversary dinner] may do. Usually there is no difficulty in giving a man like Canon Ainger a first-rate place. The only difficulty generally is that if such a guest is placed at the top table, where the number of guests is very limited, the Fellow who invites him sometimes has to be separated from his guest. One could not therefore promise a top table place but Rix thinks Kennedy might be sure of a good position. Rix shall not book for the dinner until he hears again.
