TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Edridge Green, 6 Ravensfield Villas, Hendon, N.W.
Date12 December 1895
DescriptionRix explains that neither the Royal Society nor the Government Grant Committee can act as mediator between an instrument maker and his client. The vouchers for expenditure of the grant will of course be examined, and Rix suggests that intimating that such careful examination will occur might have an influence on the instrument maker in question.

The instrument maker is bound to provide details of his claim for the second 30 pounds, and if Edridge-Green does not want to committee demanding that he refund a portion of the grant, Rix states that he must put 'a good deal of' pressure upon the maker to reduce the charge.
