TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date16 December 1895
DescriptionRix states that all of Foster's instructions have been carried out, except for the printing of his circular letter regarding the International Catalogue Committee.

Rix responded in the negative to Foster's question about whether they had communicated Lord Salisbury's letters to the societies who had answered the International Catalogue circular as he was unaware that this was done during his absence on holiday. He apologises for the error, but believes the effort expended in translating the letter has not been wasted as he believes many of the societies are prone to ignore communications in English and so it would be worthwhile also sending the translations. As a consequence, Foster's circular may need to be modified, and they can discuss this when Foster visits tomorrow.
