Date31 December 1895
Description'Dear Sir,
Your letter dated December 21 seems to have been delayed in the post, and was not received here until after Christmas. Since Christmas Day the offices have been closed, but if you intend to apply for the post of Assistant Secretary we will do our best to make good the five days which have been lost, by keeping the vacancy open till the 6th January. If upon perusal of the inclosed statement of the duties you decided not to apply, I shall be glad if you will let me know at once.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
