TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to William Whitaker, Fellow of the Royal Society, 33 East Park Terrace, Southampton
Date3 January 1896
Description'Dear Sir,
We would rather have destroyed all the Lists containing the unfortunate mistake which our printers have made, but, if you prefer to retain yours, will you be sure to obliterate the name of STRUVE from the list of deceased Foreign Members on the last page but four and insert it in the list of living Foreign Members on the previous page? The printers made this unfortunate alteration upon mistaken information of their own and without consulting us.
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
