Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor St George Jackson Mivart, 39 Marine Parade, Worthing |
Date | 27 January 1896 |
Description | Rix explains that the packing and dispatch of 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' is an 'immense' task, especially as they only have one man to do it, and he can only fit it into intervals between other work. However, the case Mivart gives is exceptional, and he refers to special circumstances which delayed dispatch on that occasion, and as a consequence he should not have to wait so long in future. Rix has made a note that Mivart's name is to be taken earlier in the despatch in future.
Rix also reminds him that any Fellow can have his volumes immediately upon publication if he comes or sends for them. It is when the volumes are prepared by the Society that they are liable to some delay. |
