Description'Dear Sir,
Inclosed herewith a letter from J. O. Neumann, received this morning, about expedition to Venezuela. Letter from the Admiralty this morning grants what was asked for Japan but declines it for Norway. I have kept this letter for the Council but have communicated the substance in brief to Prof. [Professor] Turner. Mrs Huxley approves the portrait of her husband. Specimen of Govt [Government] Grant list herewith. Can I have this back by return? I am so anxious to let the applns [applications] out to the Chairmen.
