| Description | Rix explains that the enclosed letter and cheque was delivered by hand by Miss Gilkinson, along with the enclosed card. She is described as a "friend" employed by relatives of their Fellow James Heywood, noted as being in poor health in both his mind and body, to see that what he does is in order. In handing over the cheque, she expressed doubt about whether the bank would honour it, and a desire that if it should not be honoured by the bank, that it be returned to her by hand, and not to Heywood through the post.
Dr Michael Foster has endorsed the cheque and asks that Rix explain the circumstances to Howes, so that he may act in a proper manner. |
