Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to the Director, Royal Gardens, Kew |
Date | 24 February 1896 |
Description | Foster reports that the President and Council of the Royal have had under consideration the disposal of plants collected by Mr [George Francis] Scott-Elliot, as funded by a Government Grant, and he states that they have learnt that the collection comprises of set A, which contains a specimen of all species collected, and set B, which contains the remainder of the specimens.
The Society have decided set A should be given to the Herbarium at the Royal Gardens, Kew, and Foster asks whether they accept them. The whole collection is currently at the British Museum, and Foster has received instructions to write to the Director to ask him to send set A to the Society for transmission to Kew, or if there are no objections, to send them directly to the Royal Gardens. |
