DescriptionFoster, in response to the letter from the Principal of the University and Lord Provost of Glasgow, is directed to reply on behalf of the President and Council of the Royal Society that they will be proud to share in honouring an individual who has done so much for the 'Advancement of Natural Knowledge' and towards the good of the Society, with the admiration of its Fellows, as its President. Accordingly, they have requested that their highest Officers, President and Treasurer represent the Society at the occasion.
