TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Messrs Drake & Gorham, 66 Victoria Street, S.W.
Date27 March 1896
DescriptionRix sends thanks for their letter of the previous day, which he will bring to the attention of the Royal Society's Treasurer, Sir John Evans.

With regard to the question of periodical inspection, Rix wishes to ask a question. He mentions that a casual visitor informed them that it was 'imprudent' not to turn off all the switches at night, but Rix notes that in a practical sense, due to the organisation of offices and living areas, this would be 'exceedingly inconvenient'. He asks if, as their insulation is regularly tested by Drake & Gorham, whether it is really necessary to adopt the precaution recommended by the visitor.
