TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to J Taylor, Office of Works, 12 Whitehall Place, S.W.
Date14 April 1896
Description'Dear Sir,
We were instructed some time since when we required broken glass to be replaced to write to yourself instead of sending the usual printed form to Mr Street. As I have just resigned office and the rooms are now being placed in repair for my successor, I venture to call your attention to the fact that three windows on the second floor are broken. I believe these casualties have all occurred from defective sash-lines. I would ask, therefore, to have them made good by the Office of Works. It is very desirable that they should be repaired while the workmen are still about.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. RS. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
