| Description | Foster reports to Kirk, that they are yet to resolve the difficulties of where George Francis Scott-Elliot's specimens [of the Flora of Tropical Africa] should be sent. Includes reference to the visit of George Murray [of the Natural History Museum], who reported that the two first collections, A and B could not be of equal value, and discusses solutions for their distribution.
Foster's own view is that they must insist that both Murray and Scott-Elliot come to the Royal Society to discuss which specimen collection is to go where, and Foster further states that he belives that this can be only reading of Kirk's letter to him. |
