TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date23 May 1896
DescriptionIn response to Glazebrook's letter of 22 May, Harrison encloses Larmor and Fitzgerald's reports on George Frederick Charles Searle's paper. As such reports do not normally leave the building, he asks for an acknowledgement of their receipt via the enclosed postcard.

Harrison also lists the names of the Fellows to whom other papers were referred by Glazebrook's Committee that week: Baily 'Hysteresis of Iron &c' to Professor William Edward Ayrton and Professor James Alfred Ewing; D Stuart on 'Colliery Explosions' to Dr Thomas Edward Thorpe and Professor Dixon; Charles Chree 'On Atmospheric Electricity' to Professor Arthur Rucker and Professor Arthur Schuster; Wildermann, 'Proof of Van't Hoff's Constant' to Professor Joseph John Thomson and Mr Pickering; George Frederick Charles Searle's paper to Professor Horace Lamb as a third referee. Harrison does not include the referees whose reports were accepted at the meeting.

He will send a postcard next week about the next meeting of Glazebrook's Committee. Harrison must take the draft minutes of the Committee into the country with him, and send them from there as he has not been able to touch them while at work in the Royal Society's offices.
