| Description | Harrison has shown the letter Elgar brought him from the Royal Societies Club to the Officers, who say that the Society can, of course, know nothing officially of the Club and that the question of accepting its invitation must, of course, be a matter for Elgar alone; whatever they may think of the methods the Club has taken to promote its interest.
Harrison is afraid he had to leave rather unceremoniously the other day when Elgar was good enough to call on him but he was already late for an appointment, and Professor Roberts-Austen carried him off to discuss a question relating to a paper of his. Harrison returns the letter referred to [not attached]. |
