DescriptionThe Secretaries are desired to return the thanks of the Society for Roberts-Austen's paper 'On the Structure of Metals, its origin and changes'. The Sectional Committee on Physics has resolved to recommend the Committee of Papers to publish this paper in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]', and to communicate the enclosed notes [not attached] to which they suggest Roberts-Austen should give effect in preparing the paper for press.

The Secretaries propose to have the paper set up without delay, with full confidence that Roberts-Austen will have due regard to the enclosed when the proof sheets of the paper reach him.
