| Description | Having been consulted by Mr Secretary Chamberlain concerning the Tsetse fly, the Society has appointed a small committee to advise him. Feeling the great value of Bruce's results the committee is anxious to help Bruce in every way. They have copies of Bruce's first report and anxiously await the second.
Harrison asks to know how they can help. The Society has had a memorandum giving an abstract of [Alfred] Lingard's voluminous reports on surra and Harrison is sending Bruce a copy of this since they learn he has difficulty in obtaining information about this subject.
Asks some general questions in ignorance of what Bruce's second report contains; whether Bruce is prepared to go on with research, if he requires financial aid or an additional worker, and if it would be possible to infect small animals and transmit them to England for study. |
