TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Frederick Orpen Bower, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date1 June 1896
DescriptionIn answer to Bower's letter of 28th May, having reference to Bower's paper on Ophioglossaceae, Harrison is instructed to reply that by the Statutes the original of all papers read before the Society are deposited in the Society's archives. Strictly speaking Bower's paper ought to be returned at once but since he will doubtless wish to take a copy, the Officers have directed Harrison to say that they will take the responsibility of allowing Bower to retain the manuscript until he has made a copy, provided that the manuscript as it was originally sent, is returned to the Society no later than 18th June.

Bower's request to retain the illustrations to his paper will be brought before the next meeting of Council, when it will doubtless be granted.
