DescriptionFoster is directed to forward the enclosed letter received from Professor J Norman Lockyer relative to the Eclipse Expedition [not attached] which is self explanatory.

Though in Sanderson's letter of 1 July to the Royal Society customs are not specially mentioned, they were specially mentioned in the report made by Foster on the part of the Royal Society and the Society fully accept the responsibility undertaken by Lockyer in landing the instruments.
