TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Henry Edward Armstrong, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date8 October 1896
DescriptionDr [Michael] Foster has requested Harrison to send the enclosed specimen [not attached] of an author's idea of an index slip for the abstract of a paper in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', and to ask Armstrong to revise it as soon as possible. This is only one however of several authors' slips which are not much better than the enclosed, and Harrison will be glad to know if Armstrong will undertake these also. The revision of an author's analysis of his own paper is a responsibility which does not properly belong to the office. Armstrong will see by the printed abstract of Rutherford that the index slip is out of all proportion in length to the abstract.
