TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date27 October 1896
DescriptionWonders if Glazebrook can tell him something about Mr [Ernest] Rutherford and his whereabouts. The recommendation of the Sectional Committee was communicated to Rutherford by Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt] together with the modifications which he was asked to adopt on the suggestion of the referees, but as far as Harrison can ascertain nothing has been heard from him in response and the publication of the paper is hanging fire.

Harrison sees by Glazebrook's note in the agenda book that he undertook to speak to Rutherford personally on the points raised by the referees. Lord Rayleigh thinks that in the absence of any direct reply from Rutherford the Society ought to get on with the paper as it is, without waiting longer.
