TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date2 November 1896
DescriptionThanks Foster for his note and has sent the minutes to Harrisons and is going down himself this afternoon to look at the proof in order that the copies can be delivered to the Society by tomorrow morning.

Encloses the letter and papers about Erdmessung [not attached]. The only Council papers Harrison consciously did not send were either those upon which resolutions were already drafted, or those which were postponed for the next meeting.

To Harrison's horror and despite all the arrangements made with the ship-owners, Dr Waghorn arrived at the Society today with an infected dog and an infected guinea pig. The ship owners seems to have forgotten all about their promise to send for Dr Kanthack as soon as the things arrived so Harrison sent them off to St Bartholomew's in a cab with Kennedy. Waghorn does not believe in the guinea pig being of any use.

There is a note from Fairfield saying that the substance of Foster's letter on Rinderpest was telegraphed to Cape Town on the day of its receipt, but that they have as yet no reply.
